Rites Held Monday for Adair Alexander
Rites were held Monday morning for Adair Alexander, assistant postmaster, who died late Thursday evening at his home, 1323 West Third street, from a heart affliction. The services were conducted by the Rev. Leslie F. Sweetland of the First Presbyterian church at the family residence.

Mr. Alexander had been assistant postmaster for the past 16 years and a resident of the city for 55 years. In 1909 he was appointed clerk in the local post offices and in 1923, after steady advancement he was appointed assistant postmaster. . . In 1904 Adair Alexander and Elizabeth Lechner were married and to this union two sons were born.

Surviving are his wife, their sons, Adair D. and Frank Alexander, seven grandchildren and four brothers, John B., Joe and Dave Alexander, all residents of this city, and H. B. Alexander of Longmont, Colorado. A sister, Mrs. W. B. Morris, died in 1918. Burial was in the Grand Island cemetery with Harold Menck, Dr. Wilmer D. McGrath, Perry Powell, Harry Patterson, Ralph Scott, and Joe Roney as active pall bearers. All employees of the postoffice could be spared from their duties attended the services in a body.
