WAYNESBORO-Agnes Sensabaugh Benson, 82, of 1837 South Talbott Place, died Wednesday (March 6, 2002) at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
She was born December 31, 1919, at Rockbridge County, a daughter of John William Rice Sensabaugh and Bertha Ludwig Sensabaugh.
She had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1955 and was a hairdresser for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Chief Clarence H. Benson, who died July 26, 1996; a son, Clarence W. Benson who died December 3, 1999; a grandson, Tony Campbell; two brothers, Charles and Luther Sensabaugh; and three sisters, Mattie Sensabaugh, Dora Bartley and Maude Hoffman.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Margaret Campbell and her husband, Snap, Bobbie Dameron and her husband, Ric, and Lois Benson, all of Waynesboro; a daughter-in-law, Virginia Benson of Lexington; two sisters, Mildred Davis of Rockbridge Baths and Lillie Heslip of Fairfield; 13 grandchildren, Rick Benson, Lori Speidel, Jan Brenneman, Randy Benson, Gina Yoder, Terri Vailes, Daniel Horne, Matthew and Ethan Dameron, Kenny Donald, Melissa Wetzel and Michael and Kevin Donald; 22 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Bertha Bryant.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McDow Funeral Home, with the Rev. William Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Augusta Memorial Park.
