"Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal" Tupelo, Mississippi November 8, 1973 CECIL REED BURIAL SET Lifelong Resident of Auburn Area Cecil Reed, 72, died at 4:50 a.m. Wednesday at North Mississippi Medical Center after a lingering illness. Mr. Reed was a native of Lee County and a lifelong resident of the Auburn area. He had worked on road construction for the state and the county. He was also a farmer. He married Grace Turner in 1921 and she survives. Mr. Reed was a member of Crossroads Chrisitan Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. today from Spring Hill Presbyterian Church with the Revs Dean Sharp, Wayne Thorne and Wesley Kingsley officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery with McGrath-Rasberry Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Surviving are five sons, John T., Rex, Arthur Roy and Paul Reed, all of Tupelo and Billy Reed of Okolona; three daughters, Mrs. David Gillentine and Mrs. Bill Chaney, both of Tupelo and Mrs. Billy Williams of Verona; two brothers, Marvin Reed of Memphis and George Reed of Amory; two sisters, Mrs. Allen Bryant of Warsaw, Va., and Mrs. Clara Isbell of Amory; 22 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Steve Bullock, David Gillentine III, John Ronald Reed, Jerry Reed, David Wiggington, Colin Greenhill, James Bingham and Harry Collins.
