Dewey W. Koger Jr., 45, died Thursday afternoon at his home in Muncie.
He was born in Muncie, the son of Dewey and Elsie Foust Koger, attneded Muncie schools and graduated from Southside High School in 1975. Mr. Koger was employed at Elm Ridge Cemetery before illness forced his retirement. Earlier, he had been employed at R.J. Rebar Machiine and Tool and at Duffy Tool and Stamping. He was a member of Bethel United Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Vicki Harris Koger; three children, Melissa Givson (husband-Damian), Larry Koger, and Louis Koger, all of Muncie; his stepson, Justin Smith, Muncie; three grandchildren, Damian, Marissa and Jaylen Gibson, all of Muncie; three sisters, Betty Gunter (husband-William), Judy Barnes (husband-Clarence), and Nina West (husband-Buford), all of Muncie; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jimmy and Phyllis Harris, Muncie; his brothers-in-law, Ron Harris, Michigan, and Steve Harris, Ohio; his sister-in-law, Sherry Harris, Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Wilma Sue Koger; and his brother, Carl Koger.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday in The Meeks Mortuary Chapel, with Rev. Josh Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at The Meeks Mortuary from 2-5 p.m. Sunday.
