Mrs. Isabel Ritchie, widow of Martin W. Ritchie, died at her home, 215 East Wallace avenue, Saturday evening, after an illness of long duration. She was one of the best known women of the city, and by all who had the privilege of her friendship, was held in high esteem.
She was born in Moravia, Pa., July 9, 1842, and was 74 years, 2 months and 21 days of age. Her parents were William and Mary McConahy, early residents of Moravia. For many years, she had resided in this city, and the family home had been on Wallace avenue for a long time past.
Mrs. Ritchie was a member of the First Presbyterian church. Of a rather conservative, cultured nature, her best friends were those who knew her most intimately, and her life had been devoted largely to her home and family. Her nature was kindly and charitable one and her life had been a record of unselfishness and right living. Her husband preceded her in death. Four children survive. They are Mrs. Frank Stevenson of Sharon, Pa., Mrs. J. Johnston Fisher of this city, Miss Cora Ritchie at home and David W. Ritchie of this city.
Funeral services will be held at the residence Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and interment will be made in Oak Park cemetery. Interment private.
