Ralph Zacharias
St. David, Illinois - Ralph Zacharias, age 83, of St. David, Illinois, formerly of St. Clair, died June 16, 2007. He was born October 24, 1923 in Detroit to the late Stanley and Hedwig Zacharias. Ralph married Lucille Sass in 1946 and she preceded him in death in 1998. In 1999 Ralph married Jean Winner. Ralph served his country during World War II with the U. S. Army. He owned and operated Ralph's Log Cabin Party Store in East China Twp. and later worked for the Port Huron School System. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed cooking and gardening. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Canton, Illinois.
He is survived by his wife Jean Zacharias, Children; Renee (Jerry) LiaBraaten of LIncolnville, Marine, Patti (Kevin) Niewoehner of Windham, New Hampshire, John (Susan) Zacharias of Spring hill, Tennessee, step daughter; Kathy (Randy) Smith, Canton, Illinois, eight beloved grandchildren, brother; Joh Zacharias of Richmond, Virginia, sisters; Helen Wrona of Bentonville, Arkansas, Lorraine Garvey of New Baltimore, Betty Devereaux of Port Huron, Sally Prior of New Baltimore.
HE was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Stanley, Richard, and Leo Zacharias.Funeral services will be held Wednesday Jue 20th at 1 P.M. at St. Peters Lutheran Church, St. Clair. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, St. Clair. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 11 A.M. to 1.m. at the church prior to services. Memorials may be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church, St. Clair. Arrangements by Young Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, China Twp.
