Earnest Richard Pinkerton Jr., 69, of Oak St., Parkersburg, died May 23, 1997, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born in St Marys, a son of the late Earnest R. and Lillie Malone Pinkerton. He retired from DuPont in 1990 with 30 years of service as an operating engineer.

Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Ola Maston Pinkerton; three sons, Ronnie Pinkerton of Parkersburg, Eddie and Earnest Pinkerton, both of St. Marys; seven daughters, Betty Fulmer of High Point, NC, Debbie Bunner of St. Marys, Kathy Vincent and Tonda Taylor, both of Waverly, Brenda Clatterbuck of Marietta, Patricia Bunner of Parkersburg and Darlean Cantrell of Rockport; four brothers, Delbert, Charles and Clayton Bill Pinkerton, all of St. Marys, and Carl Woody Pinkerton of Centerburg, OH; one sister, Donna Greathouse of Spencer; 28 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by twin infant children (both died in 1956); two sons- Roger and Keith Pinkerton; and 2 sisters, Ruth Schmidt and Ernestine (Tino) Williams.

Services 2 p.m. Tuesday, Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg, the Rev. Randy Stewart officiating. Burial Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation 3-9 p.m. today.
