Daniel Martin fought with Andrew Jackson in the Creek War of 1813-1814 in Florida. Married Mary Eleanor Ayers, Daughter of a sugar plantation owner. The couple eloped to Clay Co. Mo., came to Tx in 1833. This Monument Erected 1972 by the decendants of Daniel Martin Sr. Children of Daniel & Eleanor: Jim, the eldest stayed in MO. Daniel Jr. (m. Cynthia Metcalf), Peter (m. Susanna Rhodes), John J. (m. Nancy Pitts), James M., Rachel (m. Joseph Williamson), Teresa (m. Robert Wyatt), Elizabeth (m. Thomas Hough), Mary Jane (m. Dan Reel).
