Flo's mother Gussie died when she was 5 years old and she went to live with Aunt Annie Koppel Baumwoll's wife. Her 2 slightly older brother and sister Sally and Harold were sent to live at the Hebrew Sheltering Arms Guardian Society where they remained in care for 10 years. Morris was soon off to fight in World War I in the Aerosquadron and Edythe and Lil remained at home with papa. She was eventually reunited with her brothers and sisters. She married Harry Hale, and was a wonderful aunt and a loving mother to her daughter Lori.
