Mrs. Lucinda Cummins, 84 years of age, passed peacefully to her reward in the great beyond from her home in Detroit, Friday evening, December 18. Lucinda Lindsey was born in Berlin, N. Y., April 30, 1841, being the eldest daughter of Lucius and Elizabeth Lindsey. Later they came to Michigan, and with a family of devoted brothers and sisters
grew to maturity. During her youth she united with the Baptist church of which she remained a devoted member. In 1882, she was united in marriage to Rev. A. M. Buck, former pastor in Otsego. To this union was born one daughter, Elizabeth. Four years later the family ties were broken, Rev. Buck being called to his reward. In 1888, she was
married to J. Cummins of Leslie, who preceded her in death ten years ago. She, with the devoted has made her home in Detroit the past seven years. Hers was a character of rare beauty, rich in Christian experience. Ever thoughtful of the welfare of others, she had strewn life's pathway with deeds only to show their result in God's great harvest. Indeed, to have been privileged to enjoy her companionship was to have received an inspiration to attain higher ideals of living and a deeper desire to draw a little closer to the Maker of mankind. Two sisters, Mrs. Mary Higgins, of Otsego, and Mrs. Julia White, of Kalamazoo, and two brothers, Irving and John Lindsey, of Otsego, survive. Funeral services were conducted at the home of John Lindsey last Sunday by Rev. J. H. Bancroft.
