He was born on September 17, 1937 as the son of Jesse and Hulda Cook Elder.
He was a van driver for Community Action and was a member of the Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church.
His special friends survive him, Donnie and Joann Mudd of Caneyville; and neices, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, September 4, 2001 at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield with Rev. Ed Dermitt, officiating.
Burial was in the Wilson Cemetery.
