GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Charles Hayes Sr., 86, Grand Island, died Thursday, June 27, 1996, at Bryan Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.

Mr. Hayes was born May 9, 1910, near Republic, Kan. He was employed by Ideal Cement in Superior and St. Francis Hospital, Grand Island. He was a member of Presbyterian Church, Grand Island, United Cement Lime and Gypsum Workers Union, International Union and AFL-CIO, CLC.

Survivors include his wife, Beulah of Grand Island; three sons, Charles E. Jr. of Riverside, Calif., Bruce W. of Aurora, Colo., and Norman Jay of Grand Island; a daughter, Kathleen L. Schultz Roark of Seattle; a sister, Effie Webber of Inavale; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel, Superior, Pastor Joan Gaines officiating. Burial will be in Guide Rock Cemetery, Guide Rock.

Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today and until the service Monday at the funeral home, 750 N. Commercial, Superior 68978.
