Marie Anna Adelmann Luce Marie Anna Adelmann Luce died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008 at the age of 98 years. Marie was born in Richfield, Minn. on Nov. 1, 1910 to Frank M. Adelmann and Anna Mary Hausler. She was one of seven children including Bertha, Richard, Agnes, Elizabeth, Magdalene, and Thomas. Her father, Frank, was the second mayor of Richfield, Minn., and a shop owner, auctioneer, and farmer. On Sept. 24, 1930 she married Kenneth LeRoy Luce, son of Bertrum and Mary Sibell Luce. Ken was a carpenter and built homes and cabinetry and they vacationed in Mexico during the winters. During the war he built airplanes and she worked for Douglas Aircraft in the bookkeeping department. Over the years, Marie and Ken lived in Minneapolis, San Diego, and San Marcos, and she spent her last years in Eagle. They had three boys: Donald Leroy of Minneapolis, two living. Marie traveled the world, spoke three languages, and worked as a volunteer to help a friend start the Horsetrader Magazine. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. She lived independently until the age of 93 and in 2003 she moved to Eagle, Idaho. Marie leaves 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, siblings, husband, daughter-in-law Marianne, and one granddaughter Patricia. A service will be led by Deacon Pera at Spring Creek Manor, 653 N.
