George and Frances had two more children: Francis I. Platt born 12 July 1878 in Dixon, Illinois; and George William Platt born 12 September 1880 in LaCygne, Kansas. In 1885, George and Frances were living in Blue Mound, Kansas where George was working as a farmer. Their daughter Francis had died 30 Dec 1881 in Lincoln Township, Kansas, and was buried in Ninety Six Cemetery in Linn County.
Between 1885 and 1887, George moved his family to Pendleton, Oregon, where he became employed with the Byers flour mill. On 15 Dec 1887, his wife Frances died. Then on 3 March 1889, he married a divorced woman, Eva [Beck] Cox who had a two-year-old son, Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Cox.
George and Eva had two more children born in Pendelton, OR: Hazel Rovesta Platt born 17 Oct 1890 and Percil Elmer Platt born 31 August 1894. Then on Oct 13, 1904, George died suddenly from heart disease leaving his wife Eva a widow with 4 children.
