Daniel Hallock was the son of Zerubabel and Elizabeth (Swezey) Hallock. His Hallock line of ascent is: Daniel-6, Zerubabel-5, Zerubabel-4, Thomas-3, William-2, Peter-1.
On Dec 24, 1778 (Mattituck Marriage Records), he married Mary Wells, daughter of Micah and Mary (Youngs) Wells. They had seven children: Daniel, Mary, Elisha, Huldah, Micah Wells, Buley, and Ezra.
"Daniel Hallock was born at the Old Homestead, near Mattituck. He was a private in the N. Y. Militia, and received a pension for his services. Afterward was Aide-de-camp to Gen. Putnam. Acted as substitute for his brother, John, at the capture of Ft. Montgomery in 1777, and escaped capture. He seems to have lived in Orange Co, a time before his marriage, and returned to Mattituck after the Revolutionary War." Hallock Genealogy, 1928, pg 227.
