Aristide Bertrand Given Final Rites Monday
Funeral services were held from the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley at 4:30 p.m. Monday for Aristide Bertrand, 73, who died at his residence at 903 East Seventh Street at 4:45 p.m. Sunday after an illness of approximately six months. Burial was in Woodlawn cemetery.
Born in Vermilion parish on January 25, 1875, Mr. Bertand moved to Crowley about 60 years ago. He retired from active farming a few years ago.
Surviving are his widow, Mary Shelton Bertrand; one son, John B. Bertrand of Crowley; five daughters, Mrs. Herman Petry of Orange, Texas, Mrs. Charles Kolb of Port Arthur, Texas, and Mrs. Thomas Morgan, Mrs. Burnice Server, and Mrs. Quint Petry, all of Crowley; one brother, Velia Bertrand of Crowley; and two sisters, Mrs. Zephrin Simon and Mrs. Samuel Stafford of Crowley.
Also surviving are 33 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
