Rose E. (Abair) Bantis, 78, of 51 Ray St. died on Friday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She worked most recently in the organ studio at Lincolnwood Organ Co. at the Eastfield Mall. She also worked at the Carlisle Hardware Store in Indian Orchard, Springfield, and for the government during World War II. A lifelong resident, she was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. She leaves her husband, John F. Bantis; two brothers, Edward and Eugene of Ludlow, and nieces and nephews. The funeral was private, and a memorial Mass will be arranged. Ludlow Funeral Home is in charge, and memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cedar Street, Ludlow, 01056.
