Abram Raby, aged 82, died suddenly at his residence, near Cypress Chapel Thursday at 8:45 o'clock. He was the son of Mrs. Lavicey and Kater Raby and had been a resident of Nansemond County all of his life, where he engaged in farming. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sarah Raby; two daughters, Mrs. Mary C. Curtis, Bridgetown, N.J., Mrs. Demma McClenny, Rochahawk, N.C.; three sons, John Raby, Norfolk, Emmitt Raby, Princess Anne County, and Abram Raby, Jr., Nansemond County; two sisters, Mrs. Amelia Young, Norfolk, and Mrs. Belle Parker, Washington, D.C.; three brothers, Luke Raby, Nansemond County, Henry Raby, Sunbury, N.C., and Kater Raby, Norfolk.
The body was removed to the funeral home of James V. Derry, 346 West Princess Anne road. Notice of funeral arrangements will be given later.

Mrs. E.M. Raby, Mrs. Sarah Raby and Miss Sarah Raby of Princess Anne County were cut and bruised when an automobile driven by E.M. Raby on the Suffolk road, overturned in an effort to avoid colliding with a car driven by Rev. S.A. Howell, of Newport News. Mr. Howell brought the trio to St. Vincent's Hospital, where they were treated by Dr. Anthony A. Colletti.
Mr. Raby's father died at Cypress Hill, Nansemond County, Thursday night, and he was bringing his mother home with him to live when the accident occurred. Mrs. Raby is 77 years old.
