Cynthia was the eldest of four daughters of MSgt Stanley Anthony Kundzicz, US Army Ret. and Virginia Lucille Moxley. She grew up in Detroit but also lived in Germany in 1950-1951 at age 8 where her father was stationed. She attended Warren E Bow Elementary School in Detroit; her first three years of high school at Cass Technical HS, Detroit. In August 1959 the family moved to Colorado Springs, CO, she attended her senior year at Cheyenne Mountain HS and graduated from there in June 1960.

Cynthia attended Colorado State University, Ft Collins, CO where she belonged to the Young Democrats Club. She also attended Colo. State College, Greeley, CO. During this time she met and married living Donahue, they have a son and daughter. About Sep 1963 Cynthia & her husband arrived in Osorno, Los Lagos, Chile serving two years with the Peace Corps. Shortly after they arrived, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated; she was devastated. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Bridgewater State College, MA on 3 Aug 1973. She taught at the Air Force Academy High School in Colo. Springs in the early 1980's. Cynthia married Lorin Gardner in the mid-1980's.

She lived in Detroit, MI, Bad Mergentheim & Aschaffenberg, Germany; Osorno, Chile; Binghamton, NY; Brockton, MA; Tabiona, UT, Phoenix AZ; Rifle, CO; Canon City, CO and Salida, CO in her later years. During her time in Salida she worked for the local hospital, Social Services, and the nursing home. She always worked tirelessly helping others.

Cynthia was a wonderful woman; kind, gentle, funny, full of life and had a HUGE HEART, a great smile, and personality, and was loved so much by her family & friends. She was very intelligent and had an innate wisdom and understanding of the human condition. She spoke three languages; English, Spanish, & French, of which she was able to use in many of her professional positions and the Peace Corps. She was a talented artist and especially loved to create and draw women's fashions.
