Albert was born in Schuler, AB on December 14, 1939 to Raymond and Ida Matson. He helped his parents farm until 1958 when he moved to Medicine Hat and got a job working at the Brick and Tile. He was to meet the love of his life in 1959 in Redcliff and they were soon married in July of 1960. He also worked for many places until 1971 when he started a Janitorial Company (A & M) Janitorial.
