Robert Lee "Bob" Starostka, 81, of Grand Island died Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010, at St. Francis Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Bob was born Dec. 19, 1928, at Clarks to Leo and Eva (Stopak) Starostka.

Survivors are: wife, Rosie Starostka of Grand Island; sons and daughters-in-law, Gary Starostka, David and Chris Starostka, all of Grand Island and Danny and Janet Starostka of Kearney; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Terry Blauhorn of Palmer, Cindy and Paul Wagner of Omaha and Mary Jo and Rick Hart of Hickman; brothers, Clarence "Shorty" Starostka and Bill Starostka; grandchildren, Brian (Cathy) Blauhorn, Brad Blauhorn of Palmer, Brady (Erin) Blauhorn of Grand Island, Kylee (Christopher) Brock of Des Moines, Iowa, Kelsey Wagner and fiance, Brandon, Adam Wagner of Omaha, Lindsey (Brett) Shunkwiler of Lincoln, Courtney Hart and fiance, Nick, of Hickman, Cory (Brittany) Hart of Pickrell, Katie Starostka of Lincoln, Lauren Starostka of Grand Island, Trent Starostka of Lincoln, Jordan and Cassidy Starostka of Kearney; six great-grandchildren, Faith, Blaze, Cruz and Reese Blauhorn, Azra Brock, Brennan Shunkwiler and a host of friends and relatives,

He was preceded in death by a son, Tommy; his parents and brother-in-law, Bobby Geier.

Bob graduated from Clarks High School in 1946.

He entered the military in 1951 and was stationed in Korea. He was injured on the front line and then stationed in Poussan, Korea.

He married Rosella (Geier) on Oct. 4, 1954, in Columbus and just celebrated 56 years together. Bob farmed many years in Clarks. In 1993, they moved to Grand Island and worked for his sons.

Bob was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family dearly and enjoyed all the Starostka family pow wows. He loved his road trips and driving his pickup. He will be deeply missed and be forever held in the hearts of his family.
