OBITUARY:
Roy V. Browning, 88, Shelbyville, died Monday at Heritage House Convalescent Center, Shelbyville.
He was born in Greenwood March 27, 1896, to Jesse and Mary Frances (Hagerman) Browning. He married Lellia Umbarger Dec. 4, 1915, in Franklin. She died April 28, 1979.
Mr. Browning retired 20 years ago from Beck Elevator in Shelbyville, where he worked 45 years. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Methodist Church at Stones Crossing.
He is survived by three sons, Lewis, Lester and Warren Browning; two daughters, Ethel Hill, Shelbyville, and Sarah Phipps, Waldron; 11 grandchildre, and 15 great-grandchildren.
A service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Ewing Mortuary, Shelbyville with the Rev. Doug Finney officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 5 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Shelbyville. (The Daily Journal, FranklinIndiana. Tue. Jul 3, 1984. Page 10)
