GAINESBORO Funeral services for Vida Phillips Lynn, 95, of the Lynn Chapel Community of Overton County will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, from the chapel of Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville. The family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. today, Tuesday, and from 9 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Lynn died on Monday, Aug. 26, 2002, at her residence.
She was born on Feb. 18, 1907, in Overton County to the late Jacob and Mary Carwile Phillips. Mrs. Lynn was a homemaker.
Her family includes six sons and four daughtersinlaw,
Charlie Lynn, Dana and Mary Lynn, Kenneth and Virginia Lynn, Harold Lynn, James and Jo Lynn and Ray and Sue Lynn, all of Cookeville; five daughters and sonsinlaw, Grace and Will Robbins, Pauline and Benton Goolsby, Sue and Doyle Buell, Betty and Dale Grissom and Wanda and Richard Smith, all of Cookeville; a brother, Donald Phillips of Livingston;
two sisters, Pearl Crawford of Livingston and Oma Russell of Goodlettsville; 16 grandchildren; 16 greatgrandchildren;
and two greatgreatgrandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Avert Lynn; a daughter and soninlaw, Evelyn and Billy Barlow; and a grandson, Randall Lynn.
