Thomas Phillips, 33, fell from a truck onto the highway three miles south of Hilham on Saturday, Dec 14, and his neck was broken and skull fractured. He lived only a short time.
The truck belonged to Walter Brown and was being drive by his son, J M Brown, when the accident occurred.
Mr. Phillips was a farmer of the Allen's Chapel community of the 3rd district of Overton County.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Orgie Swan Phillips; one daughter, Inez Phillips; three sons, Oval, Earl and Dennie Phillips; six sisters, Mrs. Averett Lynn, Mrs. Ernest Crawford, Mrs. Bethel Carr, Misses Arizona and Ona Phillips; three brothers, Davis, Comer and Donald Phillips; his parents, Mr. & Mrs Jake Phillips.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday at Allen's Chapel by the Rev James T Hooten, with burial in the cemetery there.
