Hugh was the son of Charles F Rosewarne and Sarah A Smith.

Hugh married Elizabeth "Bessie" Wetherby the daughter of William A Wetherby and Amelia Barron.

Well Known and Respected Citizen Passes Away
Hugh Rosewarne, a well known and highly respected pioneer resident of this section, died today at 1 p.m. at his home on Oak street, aged 53 years.
Deceased was a son of the late Charles Rosewarne, a prominent Cass county farmer, who resided three miles southeast of his place for years.
A few days ago Mr. Rosewarne underwent an operation, which was made necessary by a stomach and bowel trouble, and had since been speedily on the decline.
Deceased is survived by a wife, who was formerly Miss Bessie Spere, daughter of Mrs. Weatherby, and four brothers and three sisters--John, Charles and Sidney of Chicago; Henry, who resides at the Rosewarne homestead; Mrs. Lovell, Mrs. Gorton and Miss Georgia Rosewarne of Chicago.
Mrs. Lovell arrived from Chicago this afternoon about 10 minutes after Mr. Rosewarne had breathed his last.
The deceased traveled for years as salesman for Hayden Bros., wholesale lumber dealers of Chicago, and for the past year had conducted a retail grocery in the east part of town.

FUNERAL THURSDAY
Remains of Hugh H. Rosewarne Will Be Laid at Rest in Silver Brook
The funeral of Mr. Hugh H. Rosewarne will occur Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the residence on East Oak street. Rev. C.J. DeCoux of Trinity Episcopal church will officiate. Interment will take place at Silver Brook Cemetery.
While the funeral will not be private, but friends, who desire to view the remains, can do so only between 11 and 1 o'clock Thursday.
Mr. Rosewarne's brothers and sisters who reside out of town are all here, having arrived from Chicago at noon today. They are John R., Sidney F. and Charles, and Mrs. E.D. Lovell, Mrs.Charles Gorton and Miss Georgia. Wm. H. Rosewarne, a relative, is also here from Mishawaka.
