Nebraska was not given a middle name. He was named because their was a good corn crop that year he was born, in Nebraska I assume. He ruled with an iron fist, hence the nickname "Brass". When he was writting his name that required a middle name he wrote "NB". I guess he figured he deserved a middle name just as any, as all his children and siblings got middle names. I wonder why he did not.
