Robert Beard graduated from Kirklin High School, Class of 1938. He married Ruth Agnes PADGETT on March 15, 1942. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and returned to Clinton County where he spent his life farming. Bob and Ruth had four children. Ruth died in 2000. In 2002, he married Imajeane EUBANKS, the widow of Merrill Paul BURKHALTER; she survived. Bob was a member of East Side Christian Church until he moved to Mulberry in 2002; then, he was a member of Trinity Church.
