Originally interred in the same grave as her brother, Monsignor John Joseph Mary Benedict Chanche PSS., (1795 - 1852), the First Bishop of the Diocese of Natchez, Mississippi, in Baltimore, Md., when the remains of the latter where exhumed and transferred to Natchez for re-interment, her remains were also exhumed and interred together with those of her brother in a casket constructed by the Trappist monks of New Melleray, Iowa.
