A. F. MUNDELL

Abram Franklin Mundell, son of Robert and Teresa Mundell, was born in Union township, Lucas county, Iowa, on September 22, 1868, and passed away at his home in Lucas, Iowa, on Aug. 11, 1939, at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 20 days.

He grew to manhood three miles south of Lucas on a farm which his father bought from the government, he being one of the pioneers of Lucas county.

He was united in marriage to Sarah Reynolds on August 5, 1886. Their home has been in and around Lucas all his life except for 20 years spent in Creston, Iowa.

Ten children were born to their union, all of whom are living except the eldest son, Bernard, who died at that age of eight months. They are Mrs. Bessie Cox and Mrs. Mabel Arnold, St. Louis, Mo.; Mrs. Millie Baker, Lucas; Mrs. Ethel Poush, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. Lois Fossnacht, Chicago, Ill.; Robert Mundell, Lucas; Herbert Mundell, Wymore, Nebr.; Laurel Mundell, Canton, Ohio; and Marvin Mundell, Chicago, Ill.

Besides his bereaved wife and children, he leaves 19 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and other relatives and a host of friends. He was the last member of a large family, all of whom were well and favorably known in the Lucas vicinity.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. A. E. Beals, of Russell, were held at the Goshen church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and burial was in the Goshen cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris Baker, Albert Baker, Ken Vanscoy, A. Israel, George Lane and Jim Crow.
