Born on August 22, 1921, in Cooke County, she died Tuesday, June 8, 2004. She was a homemaker and a member of the Worldwide Church of God.
She is survived by her husband of 55-1/2 years, Vernon Rogers of Big Sandy; 2 daughters, Nina Y. Rogers of Big Sandy; JoAnn Rogers of Big Sandy and fiancee, Jonathan DeWyer of Palm Springs, California; and 2 nieces and 1 nephew, all from Whitesboro.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Earl and Josephine Lillian Bates; 2 brothers, Deava Bates and Walter Raleigh Bates; and 1 sister, Goldine Bates Payne.
The family received friends on Friday, June 11, 2004 at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.
