MECHANICVILLE -- Joseph A. Brandolini , Sr., 64, of Maple Ave., Hemstreet Park, died Tuesday at Albany Medical Center following a short illness. Born in Hemstreet Park, September 25, 1934, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Cenci Brandolini . He was a lifelong Mechanicville resident. A papermaker his entire life, Mr. Brandolini worked for American Tissue company's Mechanicville plant, retiring in April 1998. Previously he worked at the former Galante Paper Co. and the West Virginia Pulp and Paper Co., both of Mechanicville. Mr. Brandolini was a veteran of the US Army, serving as a tank driver. He was a former member of the Hemstreet Park Fire Dept. and a member of Assumption-St. Paul Church in Mechanicville. Mr. Brandolini enjoyed his flower and vegetable gardens and the warmth of his family. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Jeannette Overocker Brandolini , whom he married August 16, 1959; a daughter, Mary Alice O'Brien of Hemstreet Park; two sons, Joseph A. Brandolini , Jr. of Latham and Ernest G. Brandolini of Hemstreet Park; six grandchildren, Kevin and Sean O'Brien, Catherine, Michael, David and Elizabeth Brandolini ; three sisters, Philomena Alonzo, Rita B. Alonzo and Lois B. Mone, all of Mechanicville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Assumption-St. Paul Church, William Street. Burial in St. Paul's Cemetery. Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvatore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association in memory of Joseph A. Brandolini , Sr.
