The poem "Someone I Love" which was written by his granddaughter Sherry Frink, was shared on the memorial cards. It is as follows:
I've never met a man like him,
so sweet, so gentle,
like the Southern winds.
He's so daring and brave;
each step he takes
is so secure and sound,
although his body shakes.
But life is short and he
knows the dawn,
so near yet so far.
A breath is gone.
This man is great in every way.
that's why I say;
his time will forever stay.
