Chris Michael Kirby, a carpenter, has been missing since the September 11th attack on the World Trade Center. He was 21. The son of James 'Mickey' Kirby and Donna Morrison Kirby, he was born on January 1, 1980, in the Bronx. Chris was a graduate of Pine Bush High School Class of 1997, where he was a member of the swim team. He was also involved with the Town of Wallkill Little League and the Wallkill Wolves Soccer Club. He was a member of Carpenters' Union #608 and was in the process of fulfilling the requirements to begin a career in the FDNY like his dad, Mickey of FDNY, Engine 43. He is survived by his parents, Mickey and Donna at home; his brothers, Mickey and his wife, Jennifer, and Brian; his sisters, Kelly Ann and Jennifer; and niece, Mackenzie. Chris is also survived by his maternal grandparents, James and Dorothy Morrison of the Bronx; his girlfriend, Sara Navarro, many loving aunts, uncles and cousins and many very special friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Ellen and James Murphy. A Mass in Celebration of the Life of Chris M. Kirby will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 71 Murray Avenue in Goshen. Rev. Trevor Nicholis and Rev. Richard Adams will celebrate the Mass. Memorial contributions in Chris's name may be made to the Chris M. Kirby Scholarship Fund, Pine Bush High School, Rte. 302, Pine Bush, NY 12566. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc."
