GOLDIE EVANS STEWART
Goldie Ann Harrison, the eldest daughter of Eli and Lucetta Harrison, was born Oct. 8, 1885 at Storm Lake, Iowa, and passed away Nov. 5, 1955 at the age of 70 years and 28 days. She had resided the past 12 years at 719 North 14th St., Chariton, living most of her life in Clarke and Lucas counties.
She was united in marriage to Floyd O. Evans on Nov. 1, 1905 and to this union were born two daughters and two sons.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, Floyd and daughter, Mildred Woods.
In December, 1951, she married Albert Stewart, who mourns her passing with her sons, Wayne of Des Moines and Glen of Osceola, and daughter, Dorthea Polser of Lucas, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by three sisters, Pearl Woods and Frances O'Neal of Osceola, Aletha Shutt of Cummings and four brothers, William of Osceola, Roy of New Virginia, Loyal and Bonnie of Des Moines. Two sons-in-law and two daughters-in-law, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends and neighbors also survive.
She confessed her faith in Christ when she was a young girl and during her last illness renewed her faith and was mindful of her Savior to the end.
She had been in failing health for the last six years, her illness being serious the last two months. She was a kind and patient sufferer while bedfast the last three weeks, being cared for in her home by her daughter, Dorthea and sister-in-law, Margaret Evans.
She was a kind and loving wife and mother, a good friend and neighbor, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Beardsley Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. A. E. Beals. Interment was in the Goshen cemetery.
