Pearl Alta Woods

Pearl Alta Woods was born in Sac County, Early, Iowa on August 28, 1867 the daughter of Eli Alonzo Harrison and Lucetta Angelia Parrish Harrison and passed way on January 13, 1968 at the Clarke County Public Hospital. She had been in poor health for sometime.

She attended schools in Clarke county and married Elgie Carrol Woods April 7, 1906 in Osceola. She lived most of her life in Clarke county where she was a housewife and the mother of 10 children born to her and her husband.

Survivors include three sons, Luther, Frank and Everette all of Osceola; five daughters, Mrs. Twyla Taylor of Omaha, Nebraska; Mrs. Cleo Press of Sacramento, California; Mrs. Corda Hall of Van Wert; Mrs. Flossie Gustavson of Des Moines and Mrs. Gladys Hall of Sacramento, California; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frances O'Neall of Osceola and Mrs. Aletha Shutt of Des Moines; two brothers, Roy Harrison of New Virginia and Loyal Harrison of Des Moines; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Mabel Woods, and Mrs. Alice Woods; Sons-in-law, Paul Taylor, C. W. Gustavson, William Hall and Milburn Hall, Nieces, nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband Eldgie, son Jessie, daughter, Roberta, grandson William Cloyce Hall, son in law, Leonard R. Press, sister Goldie Evans and brothers, William and Bonnie Harrison.

She was a kind and loving and understanding mother and grandmother.

She had great patience and much courage. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were conducted from Webster Funeral Home in Osceola Wednesday, January 17 with Rev. John Dale conducting the 1:30 services. Burial was in Bethel Chapel cemetery, Clarke county.
