Mondovi, WI. He was a farmer and an ice cutter. He died young at the age of 40 years. Hjert took Christenson as his last name when he came to America. The other brothers kept the farm name Ottum.
Hjert's younger sister Anna and her husband Claus Faaberg also came to America on the same ship Lyna, along with their young son Lars who was not yet one year old. Hjert's niece Kristi, daughter of Hjert's older sister Johanna Christensdtr Ottum was also on this same ship. Kristi married Hans Johannesson Dalsoren brother to Hjert's wife Kristi Johannesdtr Dalsoren. Kristi and Hans had no children.
