Flora Stadler, 87, of Longmont, died August 9, 2011 at Timberline Lodge Assisted Living. Flora was born May 20, 1924 in St. Peter, Kansas, the daughter of Peter and Marcianna (Appelhans) Richmeier.

Flora had fond memories of her childhood growing up on a farm in Kansas. At age 18, Flora moved to Denver with her cousin. They worked at Gates Rubber Company.

She married Albert Stadler on April 6, 1948 in Frederick, CO. They lived and worked various farms around the Longmont area until 1966, when they quit farming and moved into Longmont.

Flora began working at Amphenol on an assembly line and then at Sherwood Enterprises as an inspector, retiring at age 62. Flora was on a bowling team for a number of years and was always proud of how good they were. Flora and Albert had a small motor home and enjoyed camping with their family. She also loved to cook, sew, embroider and spend time outside. In January of 2008 she moved out of her house and into an independent living facility. In May of 2008, she moved to Timberline Lodge Assisted Living. She continued walking every day.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband and one son Steven Stadler (age 3), two brothers Herb Richmeier and Alvin Richmeier and two sisters Teckla Schiffelbein and Helen Richmeier.

Survivors include her sons Don (Kathy) Stadler of Loveland, Ron Stadler of LaSalle and Tim (Denise) Stadler of Rock Springs, WY, her daughters Jeanne (Steve) Burns of Longmont and Cindy (Rick) Staskiewicz of Gillette, WY, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
