He was born on June 9, 1925, in rural Woodside Township, Sangamon County, Ill., to the late Page Anthony Sr. and Nora (Banner) Parrish. He first married Anna Carolyn Wiemer on April 17, 1948. She died Jan. 11, 1972. He later married Mary Ann Ellison-Hulse on June 9, 1990. She survives.
He also is survived by sons, Page Parrish III of Sparland, Gary Parrish of Lacon and stepson, Michael (Janet) Hulse of Peoria; daughters, Cheryl (Larry) Jeffery of Lacon, Elizabeth (significant other, Bernie Thieben) McKeever of Lacon and stepdaughter, Doris Lewis of Peoria; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded by one son, Roger Parrish; brothers, Walter Parrish, Stanley Parrish and William Parrish; and sisters, Louise Feathers, Pauline Johnson and Grace Mannon.
Page served in World War II in the Army Air Corps.
He worked at Caterpillar for 30 years, was a mechanic, and was a retired farmer.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 983 in East Peoria and a member of the Lacon-Sparland United Methodist Church.
His passions were flying and dancing.
Page was never too tired or busy to stop what he was doing to help a friend.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Lacon-Sparland Methodist Church, with the Rev. Leonard Thomas and the Rev. Casey Taylor officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded, and burial of ashes will be at the Sparland Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the East Peoria Legion Post 983 or to The Ark no-kill animal shelter in Lacon.
