Abram Maxon, a retired baker and confectioner, died at his home, 208 Main street, Saturday afternoon, having been in ill health for some time. For a number of years Mr. Maxon owned a bakery at the corner of Broadway and St. James street but when the world's war got well under way in 1918, owing to the inability to get flour closed his bakery and retired. At one time he had several delivery wagons on routes serving customers in this city and in neighboring localities. Maxon's "Old Homestead" bread being in big demand by reason of its excellence. Mr. Maxon learned his trade with Brodhead & Pine, who had a bakery, corner Main and Wall streets, now the Charles B. Everett bakery, and was also with the late Lorenzo DuBois, later going to West Hurley, where he engaged in the baking business, before coming to Kingston over a quarter of a century ago. Mr. Maxon is survived by his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Maxon of West Hurley, by his wife Sarah, a daughter of the late Lucius Lawson of West Hurley, and the following children, Mrs. Martin l. Spencer, Mrs. Fred Dodge of Ashland, Lucius L., Pauline and Frank S. Maxon and Mrs. Lewis A. Haulenbeck of this city, also a grandson, Hervey Abraham Keator, a brother, Charles Maxon of Bayonne, New Jersey, and a sister, Mrs. Sarah Swa__ of Elizabeth, New Jersey. The funeral and interment will be private. Friends desiring to view the remains may do so at the residence this evening between the hours of 7:30 and 8:30 o'clock. Interment in the Old Hurley cemetery.
