Mr. Allen died Saturday at a local hospital. He was born June 20, 1880, in Shirley, W. Va. And came west about 1900. Mr. Allen drove a stagecoach for four years from Prineville to Burns. About 1910 he took up permanent residence at 1829 SE Oak St., and began a 27-year career for a local transit company.
He is survived by two sons, Francis, Malibu, Calif., and Vernon, Portland; two daughters, Pearl Durham, Stockton, Calif., and Maryanne Calkins, Glendora, Calif.; five brothers, Lloyd, Vancouver, Wash., Guy, Middlebourne, W. Va., Stoy, Fairport Harbor, Ohio, Clee, Spencer, W. Va., and Claude, Portland; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
