"Laura Belle White, 84, a long-time Wellington resident, died Tuesday, December 6, in Presbyterian Hospital, Albuquerque, New Mexico where she moved four months ago.
Her home here was at 400 Arlington Street.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, December 9 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of God in Christ, with Elder A.T. Anderson of Amarillo, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Guy Owens Funeral Home.
Mrs. White was born October 24, 1893 at Paris, and lived there until she and her family came to Wellington in 1949. She was married to Robert Mills White August 12, 1914, and he preceded her in death in 1957.
Surviving are 119 direct descendants, including five daughters, Mrs. Thelma McCann, Miss Ruby White and Mrs. Maggie Brown of Wellington, Mrs. Geneva Wallace of Paris, and Mrs. Anita Vinson of Amarillo; three sons, James Ivory White of Paris, John Robert White of Tucson, Arizona, and Wayne Edward White of Albuquerque, New Mexico; one sister, Mrs. Junie Augusta Cooper of Paris; two brothers, Jimmy Lee Bills and Homer Bills of Paris; 46 grandchildren and 64 great-grandchildren."
