S., age 15; Wm. A., age 13; James M., age 11; Sarah P., age 8; Naoma J., age 6; John W., age 3; and Robert F., age 1. Henry, Charles, William and James were listed as farm laborers. The children were shown with their father born in Virginia and their mother born in Kentucky.
James Shartzer died on December 26, 1921. He was buried in the Duff Churchyard Cemetery in Duff, Grayson County, Kentucky. His widow Mary joined him there after her death on May 21, 1928. Their sons William and Otto are also buried there. Otto Shartzer was born in January 11, 1883. He died on July 19, 1938.
