Frank was born May 11, 1948 in Coleman to Gilberto and Anita (Diaz) Rodriquez. He married Vicki Biera June 23, 1973. Frank graduated from Abilene High School in 1968. Following graduation, he joined the Navy serving two tours in Vietnam from 68-72 and was stationed in San Juan from 73-74. Frank was an active member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church serving on the parish council and teaching Sunday school. He played third base for the Merkel Tejanitos for 10 years and was also involved in his sons Little League Association. Frank worked for Southwestern Bell for 33 years, retiring in 2005 and was an active member of Communications of America Union. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed organizing golf tournaments for his company. He was also a member of the Booster Club and organized events for it. He made many trips to Colorado deer hunting. Frank was a people person and community minded.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki Rodriguez of Merkel; 2 sons, Zach Rodriguez of Merkel, Nic Rodriguez of Bedford; 4 brothers, Martin Rodriguez and wife Lupe, Robert Rodriguez and wife Lena and Joe Rodriguez all of Abilene, Gilbert Rodriguez and wife Pat of Dallas; 2 sisters, Virginia Gonzales and Lupe Ascencio both of Abilene; mother-in-law, Vira Biera of Merkel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Willie; a sister, Maria Elena; and his father-in-law, Juan Biera.
