This is my Great Grandmother Anderson (Todd) McMillan on my Father's side of the family. Her death notice showed a birth year of 1846 which I believe to be wrong. While the gravestone shows her born at Edinburgh, Scotland the 1851 Scotland census showed her born at Daun, Perthshire, Scotland (I haven't been able to locate an actual birth record for her.) I think it is likely she was born in 1840 or 1841, since she was on the 1841 Scotland census. Her husband William John McMillan and some children are in the same cemetery. Children said to be in Oakland Cemetery are: Matthew Todd McMillan died 1922; Robert Orr McMillan died 1960; David McMillan died 1962; Arthur McMillan/MacMillan died 1943; Annie (McMillan) Baker died 1967; Ellen MacGregor McMillan died 1923; and Margaret McMillan died 1974 (Ellen & Margaret didn't marry). Great Grandma died while Great Grandpa was serving as conductor on a trip with James J Hill (The Empire Builder) of the Great Northern Railroad fame. Great Grandpa received word of her death by telegram when the train stopped at Walla Walla, Washington.
