FUNERAL OF SAMUEL STEELE, EDQ.
The funeral of the late Samuel Steele, who died on Saturday last,took place this morning from the First M. E. church. Mr.Steele was one of the old residents of the city and was for several years justice of the peace.He had been a great sufferer from paralysis for many years and for the last three years had been confined to his house.He had attained the ripe age of seventy years.

Mr.Steels father was from Ireland and came to this country and lived in Bloomington,Illinois until he died at the age of ninety seven years.Samuel married Prudence Fisher in Madison county,Ohio where he had moved with his parents from Pa. In 1857 Samuel and his wife moved to Decatur, Illinois spending the rest of their days here.They had three sons who were soliders in the Civil War,George R.,Joseph and James.
