JACOBSON SERVICES SET FOR SATURDAY
Howard D. (Jake) Jacobson, 64, of 715 Charron Drive, died Thursday morning at his home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kirby-Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in Sunset Lawns Cemetery will follow the services.
Mr. Jacobson was born June 6, 1920 in Humbolt, Kans., the son of Marion and Carrie Dennison Jacobson. During World War II while serving in the Eighth Air Force in England, he met and married Dorothy Preece in Shrewsbury, England on 9 Sep. 1944.
He had lived in El Dorado since 1958 after coming here from Iola, Kan. He was a retired plumber, having retired from Potter Plumbing in El Dorado.
He was in charge of maintenance for both the Sunset Motor Lodge and Red Coach Inn.
He belonged to the Wesleyan Methodist Church at Iola and the El Dorado Bowling Association, which he had served as past secretary. For many years he coached in the Little League baseball program.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, of the home; one son Dean Jacobson of Fremont, Neb.; one brother, Marion Jacobson of Springfield, Mo.; one sister, Olga Cole, Iola, Kan.; and one grandson, Benjamin Jacobson. Freemont, Neb.
Kirby-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
