Mrs. Daisy McGlown McClure, 83, of Valley, AL passed away peacefully on Monday, 19 Sep 2016 at the Bethany House in Auburn, AL.

Mrs. McClure was born on 19 Mar 1933 in Lanett, AL to the late Eddie Jackson McGlown and Bernice Louise Yates McGlown.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. (EDT) Thursday, 22 Sep 2016 at the Langdale United Methodist Church in Valley, AL with interment following at Oakwood Cemetery in Lanett, AL with Rev James Haskins officiating. Family will be receiving friends at the church from 1:30 p.m. (EDT) until the service hour.

Mrs. McClure is survived by her children, Robert (Ellen) McClure, Opelika, AL; Rhonda (Tony) Gibson; and Randy (Stacey) McClure, Valley, AL; grandchildren, Mandy (Brad) Wideman, Trussville, AL; Leslie (Andrew) Leak, Valley, AL; Allison McClure, Atlanta, GA; and Jacob McClure, Valley, AL; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Lauren and Rob Wideman, and Ansley and Drew Leak.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Franklin (Bobby) McClure; siblings, Margaret Adkins, John McGlown, Ruby Voss, Eddie B. (Speedy) McGlown, Mary Sue Smith, and Robert McGlown.

Mrs. McClure was a member of Langdale United Methodist Church where she held numerous positions. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years and carrying on the legacy of the Bobby McClure Shepherding Ministry. She was previously employed as Office Manager for Dr. Atha in West Point, GA and as a bookkeeper at Skinner Corporation.
Mrs. McClure loved flowers, friends, and family. Everyone will miss her beautiful sweet smile, witty sense of humor and warm hospitality. She will be most remembered as a devoted wife to her husband of 52 years, lovingly caring for her children and being a wonderful “Maw Maw”.

Flowers will be accepted, or the family suggests that memorials be made in her name to Langdale United Methodist Church, 6301 20th Ave., Valley, AL 36854.
