The 1900 census also shows that daughter Frances was born in August 1889 in Connecticut; Edith was born in February 1892 in Connecticut, and Grace was born in June 1895 in Connecticut. Youngest child Muriel was born in 1902.

In 1920, William Rieckel, age 55 was living as a boarder in Wallingford, Connecticut; no other members of the family are mentioned. During this time his grand niece thinks he was working at a bicycle plant near Wallingford, and commuting to his family in Providence. She remembers a story about her mother getting $5 in the mail from her father who was away working. Later he worked at Brown and Sharpe as a foreman and machinist and retired from there after an injury, which may have led to his death in 1929.
