OKOLONA - Grace Brown Daniel Bolin, 81, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2004, at Trace Regional Hospital in Houston after a sudden illness. She had resided the last three years at Shearer Richardson Nursing Home in Okolona. She was born March 22, 1923, to the late Henry Alford and Dora Brown of Collinwood, Tenn. She moved to Mississippi in 1959 and worked in a factory for many years. She sat with the elderly until her health failed in 2001. She attended the Bethany Church of God of Prophecy in Okolona for many years. She was an avid gardener and cook, a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Collinwood, Tenn., with Bro. Wade Patterson officiating. Burial will be in the McGamery Cemetery there. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Okolona Funeral Home and from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at Shackelford Funeral Home in Collinwood.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy M. Daniel and wife, Kay; four daughters, Carolyn Brooks, Judy Lambert and husband, Charles, Linda Norman and husband, Mike, and Brenda Marion and husband, Thomas, all of Okolona; her grandchildren, C.E. Brooks, Greg Lambert and friend, Tina, Sheila Christian and husband, Stephen, Jennifer Hester and husband, Dusty, Lee Marion and wife, Ashley, Caitlin Norman, Missy Griggs and husband, Brannon, all of Okolona, Scott Word and wife, Ellie, Kristy Owen and husband, Jason, all of Pontotoc, Phillip Brooks and wife, Twanda, of Ecru; her great-grandchildren, Lindsy and Hayden Jaggers, Barrett and Baylor Griggs, Heather and Carson Christian, Alex and Terrie Word, Cheyenne Brooks, Kaylee Franklin, Layla Owen and Shelby Hester; a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her children's father, Henry Leo Daniel; her second husband, Frank Bolin; four brothers, Jim, Doc, Dick and Bill Brown; two sisters, Gertrude Daniel and Verdie Martin; a son-in-law, C.B. Brooks; and three grandchildren, Charles Lynn Lambert, Melissa Ann Lambert and Angela Kay Marion.
Pallbearers will be Terry Ausbern, Wayne Rea, Jim Berry, Bob Wilson, Carl Harper and Holland Ray Daniel. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, C.E. and Phillip Brooks, Greg Lambert, Scott Word and Lee Marion.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
