Although not yet confirmed, Cecily is almost certainly the daughter of Culverine Ford (1715-1797) & Elizabeth Lea (d. 1810). Going by vital dates found, she was the paternal grand-daughter of William Ford (1684-1751) & Elizabeth "Liddy" Anne Ward (1706-1751). This information is still being researched.

Cecily married James Adams in 1751 at St James Northam Parish Church in Henrico Co VA. This location is now in Albemarle Co.

Virginia Select Marriages, 1785-1940:
Name: Cecily Ford
Gender: Female
Marriage Date: 1751
Marriage Place: St James Northam Parish, Goochland, Virginia
Spouse: Ja. Adams
FHL Film Number: 975.5 V2D

Note:
The following information regarding the splitting of Goochland Co in Virginia helped in determining where this family married and lived during the years 1751 to 1758 -
" In 1744 the Parish of St. James-Northam covered the entire county of Goochland. In 1744, by an act of the General Assembly, Goochland County was divided and Albemarle County was formed. By the same act St. James' Parish was divided into three parishes. That part in Albemarle County was to be known as St. Anne's Parish; that part still in Goochland and north of the James River was to be known as St. James-Northam; and that part on the south side of the James to be known as St. James-Southam.
The bounds of St. James-Northam have not been altered since 1744, except for the creation of Dover Parish in 1963. All of the churches covered by these records, except for Grace Church, are defunct and have been absorbed by that church."

The couple had twelve children, seven sons and five daughters, all of whom are mentioned in their father's Will, probated on 3 Apr 1789 in Fluvanna Co VA: James Jr, William, Robert, Thomas Ford, John, Nancy, Richard, Sarah, Charles, Mildred, Mourning & Susannah.

Note:
A Find-a-Grave member has reported no tombstone was located within this cemetery. However, 5 unmarked graves were seen, one of which may belong to Cecily. Many thanks to this member for her efforts.

As well, many thanks to Al for a copy of James' Will. Thank you too to Mezzo for sponsoring Cecily's memorial.
